Ms. Heather Lorenzo

Hi, my name is Heather Lorenzo, and I am honored to serve as a K–2 special education teacher and bring over 19 years of experience in elementary education to this role. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse learners in inclusive classrooms, always guided by a deep belief that every child can learn, grow, and succeed when given patience, encouragement, and the right supports.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in meeting students where they are and building on their strengths. I strive to create a warm, structured, and nurturing classroom where students feel safe, valued, and confident to take learning risks. I believe strong relationships—with students, families, and colleagues—are the foundation of meaningful progress, and I am committed to working collaboratively to support each child’s academic, social, and emotional development.
Outside of school, my greatest joy is my family. I am married to my husband, Dale Lorenzo, and together we have three adult sons, of whom I am incredibly proud. They have built successful careers and beautiful families of their own. We are also blessed with five grandchildren—four grandsons and one granddaughter—and my husband and I spend most weekends happily surrounded by them.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and attending Broadway musicals. These interests, along with my love for teaching, continually inspire me to bring creativity, compassion, and enthusiasm into the classroom each day.
