We're on the right track in Pre-K!
This week in PreK, we are celebrating NAEYC's annual Week of the Young Child! We have a fun filled week celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and community. Our week of festivities are: Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday. You can view the NAEYC's website here.
For Music Monday, we made maracas and learned where they originated, how they are made, and then danced to cultural music while shaking our homemade maracas.
Our Math goal today was: counting to ten and breaking ten apart to make five and five using "red fish" & "blue fish", and putting them together to make ten "purple fish." We threw in a little science, too, when students learned that red and blue make purple!
Our literacy goal: identifying rhyming words with picture socks for "Fox in Socks" book. Students had to cut, match, and paste.
Craft time: they made their very own "Wocket in Pocket"!
Our snack today was "green eggs and ham": green pudding with a vanilla wafer, while Mrs. Guidry read to us.
It was a GREAT day in prek!
