Mrs. Rebecca Pye, Principal

I am excited and honored to serve as the principal of Bayou Vista Elementary!

Before joining the BVE family, I spent five years as an assistant principal at Berwick Elementary School. Prior to moving into school administration, I taught English for 14 years, teaching junior high and high school at Centerville High School and high school at Berwick High School.

In addition to my work in K–12 education, I currently serve as an adjunct English Composition instructor for Southern University. Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about helping students grow, supporting teachers, and building strong relationships with families and the community.

At BVE, our students are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to helping every child succeed, both academically and personally. We believe in educating the whole child by providing opportunities for students to grow as learners while also developing the character, confidence, and skills they need to be successful.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Bayou Vista Elementary family and look forward to working together with our students, staff, families, and community to help every Little Gator learn, grow, and succeed! 💙💚
