Parent & Family Engagement

We have lots going on at BVES to get involved and engaged in your child's learning! Our PTO meets once a month here at school, Mrs. Daira Moffett and Mrs. Kayla Perry are in charge. You may reach out to them for more information.

Our first big Family Engagement was our One Book, One School! We all read The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies. On Aug. 29 @1:30, we had a family day where classes battled it out for their best recipes and banners to the Lemonade WAR, with community leaders being our judges! The winner, with Bobalicious Berry Lemonade, was second grade!

Sept. 8, we had Gumbo with grans at the BV Community Center, where our amazing cafeteria ladies made the BEST gumbo for us to enjoy with our grandparents at our own little Fais do do! 

Oct. 30, PTO sponsors our Fall Carnival during specials, so sign up to help out! On the 31, Pre-K & K have trunk or treat at the front of school with their families!

In November, every Tuesday is $2 Pajama Day, and on Nov. 20, we'll have our Thankful for Parents Picnic!

Every Tuesday in December is also $2 Pajama Day, and our PTO will have a Winter Carnival during specials for us on Dec. 19. 

January 20, we'll have a family Math night at 5:30, the 100th day of school on Jan. 22, and Beta Induction for our worthy 4th & 5th graders  on Jan. 23 at 1:30!

In February, we'll have a Mardi Gras Parade, Jr. Beta Convention, and on Feb. 27, a Black History Presentation.

March will be spring pictures, and April we'll have a PTO Egg Hunt!

Teacher Appreciation Week and many end of year ceremonies will be in May.
